Java Platform
With EMV, banks increase the payment transactions security of their cardholders and have the possibility to add a wide range of value added services to the card. TAG Systems has made a clear choice for EMV products based on Java. In fact since 2007, TAG Systems is the exclusive distributor of KONATM products range in Europe, Russia and CIS countries.
Kona Operating System is built on Java Open Platform, specially developed for smart cards with application programming interface and an interpreter to execute applets. Kona OS has also developed a series of Java Static products fully competitive to ordinary Native products, but using the openness and standardization from Global Platform specifications. The only difference between a Java Static and a GP card is the lack of Post Issuance functionality.
Most of the Kona products are supporting DDA & CDA.
The range of Kona products is completed with Dual Interface chips enabling contactless payment on Visa and MasterCard networks.
Today more than 60 banks from UK, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia & CIS, Andorra and Poland have successfully completed their EMV migration to Kona chips. KONA products have showed their effectiveness both in large and small EMV card deployments.
